M. Saquibuzzaman is a practicing Barrister and a member of the Hon’ble Society of Lincoln’s Inn, UK. He obtained his LL.B (Hons) from the University of London, UK, following his BSc in Economics from the prestigious North South University, Dhaka, Bangladesh, where he also minored in Management Information Systems.

With a diverse legal practice, M Saquibuzzaman specializes in Admiralty, Maritime and Shipping Law, Banking and Financial Institutions, the Medical and Pharmaceutical Industry, Telecommunications, Anti-Corruption and Anti-Money Laundering, Company Law, Constitutional Matters, Labour and Employment Law, Power and Energy, and Criminal Justice and Litigation, Customs law.

M Saquibuzzaman has the right of audience before both the Division Bench of the Supreme Court of Bangladesh as well as all subordinate courts and tribunals across the country. He regularly appears before the Constitutional Courts, advocating on behalf of clients in complex legal matters.

He has been instructed by renowned multinational companies, banks, and institutions, including Mashreq Bank psc. Dubai, COSCO Group China, Hapag Lloyd AG Germany, Kuehne+ Nagel Ltd. American P&I Club, OOCL, Damco Bangladesh Limited, NYK Shipping Limited, Prime Bank Plc, Jamuna Bank Plc, Premier Bank Plc, BRAC Bank Plc, Eastern Bank Limited, NIELSEN India, LafargeHolcim Bangladesh Limited, Meghna Bank Limited, Dutch-Bangla Bank Limited, IDCOL, City Brokerage Ltd., Grameenphone, Robi Axiata Limited, and Berger Paints Bangladesh Limited, among others.

Recently, M Saquibuzzaman has been actively involved in advising the Nordic Chamber of Commerce and Industries (NCCI) on implementing the first-ever Audit Process for the Energy Efficiency Project in Bangladesh. He has also advised City Brokerage Limited in its largest-ever share transaction involving the sale and purchase of a listed company in the Dhaka Stock Exchange. Additionally, he has provided legal counsel to Hapag-Lloyd, Germany, COSCO Shipping Lines Co. Ltd., and New Golden Sea Shipping Pte. Ltd. in their corporate restructuring initiatives in Bangladesh. M. Saquibuzzaman has been regularly advising his clients in the shipping industry on their customs and regulatory and fiscal matter related issues.

Beyond litigation, M Saquibuzzaman regularly advises clients on money recovery strategies and out-of-court dispute resolution through negotiations. His recent advisory roles include Chittagong Port Authority, Abdul Monem Economic Zone Limited, Tiger IT Bangladesh Limited, Paschimanchal Gas Company Limited, Bangladesh Container Shipping Association, Eastern Bank Limited, and Agrocorp International Pte. Ltd.

He brings extensive experience to Gladius & Co, having previously advised numerous sector corporations and enterprises of the Bangladesh Government. He continues to be instructed by key government institutions, including Bangladesh Petroleum Exploration and Production Company (BAPEX), Chittagong Port Authority (CPA), National Board of Revenue (NBR), Department of Inspection of Factories and Establishment (DIFE), Department of Cooperatives, Paschimanchal Gas Company Limited (PGCL), Maddhapara Granite Mining Company Limited (MGMCL), Padma Oil Company Ltd., Jamuna Oil Company Ltd., and Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University (BSMMU).

As lead counsel, M Saquibuzzaman has played a pivotal role in drafting and reviewing agreements for Bangladesh’s first-ever Energy Efficiency Engagement (EEE) Project on behalf of the Nordic Chamber of Commerce and Industry. He also led legal proceedings for City Brokerage Ltd. in the share purchase transaction involving the sale of majority shares of GlaxoSmithKline Bangladesh Limited (GSK) by Unilever Overseas Holdings BV.
